OPEN / CLOSE
For the past 10 years, Negrete, 39, has been the Los Angeles District Director for Senator Alex Padilla.
In announcing his candidacy, Robert stated, “With the support of my family, and friends throughout the district,
I am entering the race for the 13th Council District.
“I have more than 15 years of public service experience and a lifetime of knowledge about the diverse neighborhoods I am seeking to represent. I know how to lead and organize a team— and I know who to call in city departments to get things done. We have to tackle our budget problems, improve the efficiency and effectiveness of city departments, and preserve and enhance what makes our communities unique.
“I have lived in this amazingly diverse district all my life.
I know my neighbors, and they know me. With the community’s support, I will hit the ground running.
I worked for Alex Padilla when he was President of the City Council and I worked for Richard Polanco when he was Majority Leader of the State Senate. My mentors were two of L.A.’s most effective elected officials. I want to put my experience to work for the good people of the 13th District. Working together we can strengthen our local economy and our local communities.”
